On November 14th theme activities for World Diabetes Day 2021 and the launching ceremony for the 12th Baiyunshan Blue Lighting Campaign were held in Yuexiu district, Guangzhou.

These activities, such as diabetes education workshops, free physician consultation, blood glucose tests, dietary guidelines, and donations, helped raise awareness for diabetes prevention, control, and care across the wider society.

In addition, residents could play various games on site to gain knowledge about healthy diets and suitable sports for people with diabetes.

Such activities were also held in Anhui province to support the World Diabetes Day 2021 campaign.

These activities were jointly organized by the Internal Secretion Expert Committee of Guangdong Association of Integrative Medicine, the Guangzhou Baiyunshan Zhongyi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Zhongyi) and Guangzhou Baiyunshan Qixing Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd (Qixing), with other units.

November 14th every year marks World Diabetes Day, the global awareness campaign of the diabetes community created in 1991 by the World Health Organization and International Diabetes Federation. The theme for World Diabetes Day 2021-23 is 'Access to Diabetes Care', which aims to raise awareness of diabetes care and reduce the morbidity of diabetes and threats of complications linked to this disease.

Taking the opportunity of World Diabetes Day 2021, GPHL's Baiyunshan Zhongyi Xiaoke (Diabetes) Foundation has held theme activities for this campaign and the Baiyunshan Blue Lighting for 12 straight years.

Such activities will last from mid and late November to the end of this year in more than 10 cities, including Guangzhou, Shantou, Changsha, Jinan and Taiyuan, as well as Anhui province. It is expected to reach a direct audience of over 30,000 and benefit nearly 10,000 households. Established by Zhongyi and Guangdong Charity Federation, the Baiyunshan Zhongyi Xiaoke (Diabetes) Foundation is the first foundation dedicated to diabetes in China.
